Dorky Things I Enjoy

I like to pretend that I hate taking pictures for my Etsy shops, but I secretly really love it. In particular, I love photographing the beads and goodies that fill our supply shop--they're just so colorful and fun. Yesterday I took literally hundreds of shots, mostly of bright glass vintage stuff. And I'm really happy with how they came out...

A Year of Me

If you had told me a year ago that I would have this many photos of myself--shared in a public place--I...wouldn't have laughed at you, exactly, because that would be rude. But I'd have been rolling my eyes on the inside, certainly. I have a good 10-15 year period that is almost completely undocumented--that's how much I hate having my picture taken. In the group photo of my senior high school class that appeared on our yearbook cover, I literally crouched behind a friend at the last minute.

Which is why I decided to give the Etsy Self Portrait Thursday project a shot--to see if I could get over that. And I guess I could--as long as I have Gimp and Picnik to help me out. Just looking at all these pictures makes my head spin. A nice side effect of the project is my newfound love of photography. So it's been a good thing all around.
